Datasets, generators and validators

Why the values are not real

Invented. Bank codes, e-mail domains and phone numbers come from ranges reserved for examples, so they cannot belong to a real account or person.

Checksum-valid. Where a format has a check digit, it is correct, so forms and validators accept the values.

Not issued. A valid format does not mean the account or number exists. See what an IBAN check does and does not prove.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost?

Nothing. All datasets, generators and validators are free to use, without an account or sign-in.

Is any of the data real?

No. Names, places, e-mail domains and bank codes are invented or reserved for examples. A real person may share a name with a generated one, but nothing else in a record belongs to anyone.

Are my inputs sent to a server?

No. The validators and generators calculate in your browser. A number you check is not transmitted.

Is there an API?

No. You view the data on the page, copy it, or download it as a file. There is no API at the moment.

Why German formats like IBAN and VAT numbers?

This site started as a German collection of example data and validators. The sample shop uses EUR and German VAT rates, but its table and column names are English so it fits any project.
